How We Started:
3 Disciplines Racing originally started out without a name but to help raise funds for a high school cross-contry and track team for new uniforms, travel, awards banquet and team dinners. What started out as a fundraiser because kids uniforms were falling apart grew into one of the premiere event management companies in the country.

Kenny Krell was coaching and tried all the car washs, bake sales, etc. He needed about $10k to get new uniforms for the kids and those methods were not getting it done. He had over 12 years and 200 races under his belt racing all over the world and said "I have plenty of volunteers in the kids, lets host some events and give the money earned back to them for what was needed."Three trail running and six duathlon events later they managed to raise the funds necessary to get new uniforms. That was the start of 3 disciplines racing.

Other programs saw the nice uniforms and immediately approached Kenny to host an event. One event spread to two, then the city contacted Kenny for an event; and so 3 disciplines racing was born.  Kenny thought he would be teaching and coaching the rest of his career butthree year's into it he had to make what became the most difficult decision of his life; to give up what he loved, coaching, and host events all over the country. Seeing a need for better events, knowing he could reach many more people than coaching would allow him he resigned from coaching and teaching and started 3 disciplines full time.

Enter Annmarie Kern, a former standout high school runner, with the same passion to help better people's lives and give back to the communities. This was the special touch 3 d was looking for. Kenny can be a bit brash and somewhat politically incorrect at times because of his deep passion for what he does and his strive for perfection. So Annmarie added that customer service aspect and most importantly took on the job of timing and registration.

So in a very short 8 yrs they have produced and timed 400+ events; including Regional Championships, World Junior Qualifiers, the best state series around. They were the first to start the triathlon revolution bring triathlons to Tempe Town Lake in Tempe, AZ; right in the middle of one of the biggest cities in the U.S.  They have hosted events in 7 states including running, mountain biking, road racing, triathlon, duathlon and adventure races.  In 2008 they launched the SuperkidsTry program and further enhance their Get Michigan Fit programs.  Something they want to take head on because of Michigan consistanly being ranked in the top 5 most unhealthy states.

Kenny and Annmarie have learned how much they enjoy changing people's lives, creating something from nothing, helping out high schools and charities as much as possible. Kenny and Annmarie truly have a passion for what they do. Striving for the ever elusive perfect event in the mean time continue to create memories in every event 3 disciplines hosts.

Charitable Contributions/Affiliations:
They have donated over 450 pairs of shoes, over 12,000 event shirts, and over $255k in charity donations. Personally delivered tons of food in several host city shelters for the less fortunate. They will bring to Michigan the first multi-sport awards banquet to feature and recognize some of the most important people in the sport. As well as introduce several new programs to grow all sports participation. Kenny takes the "fattest city, state" award Michigan received on as a challenge not only for Michigan but wherever they host events. He see's the obesity in children as a big problem and would like to have a role in reducing that.
